So I got all 12 of the sketches done, and I tried to post some but my camera wouldn't behave so I gave up on that. But I'm back in school finally and have started painting! The first one is "done" ( I put that in quotes because you never know), Pisces! Aries is almost done. The plan is to work on two paintings simultaneously. So two a week until they're all done. I'm thinking if I have time, of scanning these and making an actual calendar out of them. But I'm taking one thing at a time here. So taking what happened last semester, I've focused on a figure, and simplified what symbols should be included. On every painting in the left hand corner is the alchemical symbol of the element, and on the right hand corner is the symbol for the planet. The symbol for each sign is strewn about in the background based off of Mucha and Art Deco. I had been watching my fiance play Bioshock and was inspired by the art style to return to my love of Art Deco. And if you've seen my Lichtenstein inspired portrait than you know the format for these paintings. Anyway, off to bed, and tomorrow to keep painting.
